How Stuff Works

JOINING

Joining the [community profile] memezilla community is by no means a requirement. Anyone can post to the community at any time without being a member. Membership is open to everyone, if you so wish. And we always suggest at least subscribing so you can see when new memes are posted. But neither is required to participate!

POSTING MEMES

When you post a meme, it will be reviewed by one of the mods. However, it may not be posted immediately upon approval. It will be posted on the appropriate theme day in rotation. If it does not suit one of our themes, it will be posted on a miscellaneous day.

We also have a limited number of slots per day. Currently there will be a maximum of 3 memes posted per day Monday through Thursday, and a maximum of 5 memes posted per day on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. These numbers may increase with demand.

Memes for the day will typically be posted between midnight and 4am (Pacific) of that day. If you would like a meme to appear on a specific theme day, please be sure to submit at least 12 hours before the start of that day. Any less and the mods may not have time to review your submission.

RESTRICTIONS

With the exception of our smut and shipping theme days, no memes can be exclusively base on smut or shipping. They may include these in no more than 50% of the prompts, but the focus of the meme cannot be shipping or smut.

Incest memes and prompts are not allowed. If players decide to do add that theme to their threads, we will allow them to. But it cannot be the focus of any meme or prompts given.

FREQUENCY

Sometimes, memes simply don't catch people's attention. If a meme receives fewer than 10 comments, we request that it not be posted the following week. If the second time the meme is posted, it still receives fewer than 10 comments, we request that you wait at least three months before submitting again.

As above, these values will change as demand and traffic of the community changes.

SENSITIVE CONTENT

Some people enjoy the dark, gritty or gory memes while others don't. And we respect that. You are always welcome to post such memes, but we request that you take others into consideration. Don't use overly explicit or gory images as your post headers. And if you use graphic prompts, please put them behind a cut.

Failure to follow this rule will result in a rejection or edit to your submission.

IMAGES

Please use your best judgement when selecting the image used for your post. While you can't always account for everyone, please try to consider the more extreme triggers. This means no flashing gifs, no gore, no overt sex, nothing that would require an NSFW flag. Even though we are fine with you posting body horror memes, please refrain from using images that are overtly body horror--this includes non-gory images, such as objects entering the eye.

At this point in time, we request that you not include these images at all, not even under a cut.
